Our Commercial Work

We're a hybrid creative studio based in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, home to artists who bring their own practice into every brief. We partner with commercial clients to develop compelling brand narratives through visual storytelling.

Our creative ecosystem is designed to support every stage of the process, collaborating with agencies, business owners, and in-house teams to produce work across photo, video, design and web.

OUR COMMUNITY WORK

We make work. We make room for others to make theirs too.

We actively produce and support independent projects, from grassroots music videos and artist-led podcasts to experimental live events and exhibitions.

We host events semi-regularly so that people can engage in the studio in a variety of different ways. You don't have to be working in the creative industries to get something out of this place, you can just come and hang out too.

Our events are always centred around music in some way or another, with only two prerequisites: It has to be good, and every show has to be a little different from the last.

With a bunch of artists comes a bunch of art. We host exhibitions for people in our community, both past and present family members and the wider Poynton Studios community.

The through-thread that connects everyone in this space is music - either we create our own or have a deep love for it in some way, shape or form.

We work with musicians across funded and unfunded projects to create music videos and visualisers, often for our own in-house team.

We've produced 6 podcast series in the (almost) 7 years we've been in this space, amassing over 200 episodes between them.

We've covered some serious ground, from music interviews to architectural plays. We think they are quite good, go listen for yourselves.

Archiving shows is something we're deeply passionate about. We attempt to record all of our events so they can be experienced by those who couldn't fit in the room, or to look back on in years gone by.

You can't quite beat the experience of being here, but we do our best to capture it.

PODCASTS

If we had a nickel for every time a Tiny Desk Concert in Auckland has been suggested, we would have a few nickels. Here's as close as we've ever got, one shotters and footage from our gigs.
