Creative Residency_

A collaboration with the community

At the end of 2022 we launched our creative residency programme to provide further access to creatives who have been pushed beyond the city-fringe. We’re sick of talent not getting the time of day because the rents too high, so if you needed an excuse to get your teeth stuck into something this year, this is it.

Come work alongside our studio of musicians, painters, podcasters, freelancers, video producers & programmers. We’d love to have you involved.

What's the catch?

All we ask is that you finish what you set out to. That’s it.

Maybe you want to change the world, or maybe it’s just finishing up the paintings you’ve had sitting in the corner of your room for way too long. As long as you get it done while you’re here we’re happy.

This residency is about providing opportunities for people who may not have access to the right environment for their ideas to come to life. Everyone here has been in creative ruts before, and sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery and a collective of likeminded people to bounce your ideas off. We want that for you, and that is all we ask of you.

We will be here to document your process along the way and share it with the world. This can be as in depth as you like, but the name of the game here is accountability.

Everyone can’t wait to see what you have planned, and that pressure is payment enough.

Having the residency at Poynton for 4 weeks before a solo exhibition was the perfect environment to be going hard in. While I could enjoy the peace from Myers park, the studio felt comfortable enough to intensely analyse my body of work and finish some very large paintings with no disruption other than motivation from surrounding creatives. Without a doubt, i'd love to return to Poynton with a new body of work. Thanks to everyone from the studio I never felt alone or out of my depth in putting together the show as everyone helped in any way they could, that to me is an environment designed for creativity. Churrrr the Poynton!

This residency was the absolute catalyst to propelling me out of my comfort zone and into a new tier of my work. Being in such a creative space with like-minded people, relit the light for me. What an amazing opportunity and a lovely experience.
