Hahko Meets Edward Castelow

I love Eddie.

Famously generous, kind and full of laughter, he was the special ingredient to the final (& best) Two Cartoons song ‘Less People (Less Traffic)’ where he bought his special combo of musical knowledge and wildman energy to help us produce a song to end a band with.

From Left to Right: Edward Castelow, Hahko

Eddie is a great example of the romanticism of music in all its forms, he truly loves making it, playing it and producing it, which is why he has been a mainstay of the NZ music scene for so long, and a part of so many of our important musical stories.

We talk about his journey and reference a silly amount of musical acts & scenes, from the Lil’ Chief era of Auckland (The Brunettes, Reduction Agents) in which he played drums for The Ruby Suns, through to his time with Matthew Crawley in The Conjurors & the magic of being based in The Lab recording studio.

His latest record ‘Mirth’ is a tender, open and lush singer / songwriter record very much worth a listen, and he will be performing songs from his career live at The Backroom, Auckland on Friday 9th April.
