Isla keeps telling me she doesn’t work for Crumb cafe anymore. So, why does Miles keep asking her to make coffees?
Crumb was meant to be a part-time cafe and a full-time art space. Isla and Miles went all-in and didn’t expect the little spot to grow legs of its own. Since then, it has morphed into a place for both of them to explore their many artistic lives.
In this yarn they tell me about how Miles gatecrashed Isla’s first date; their unrealised creative dreams; and why working for Crumb isn’t the only way to be part of the whānau.
